Very shortly after we brought home our new puppy (Molly), we read an article about a new place opening in Mystic, “My Dog’s Place” owned and operated by Gleanna Doyle. The article interested us enough to meet with her and discuss our new gal attending. Gleanna is awesome with animals, has an absolutely unique way of relating (dare I say communicating) with them by speaking softly (never, ever yelling) and being gentle with them (never, ever hitting). Gleanna’s impact on my dog PAX - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Pax still waits for Gleanna's visits - her smiles, her voice, and her smell. It was a fantastic experience for PAX. If he could talk, which he seems to Gleanna, he would say WOW, dog's best friend. Pax spent an overnight with Gleanna and a few other dogs, traveling for a modeling job for Ralph Lauren and could not believe how much attention, brushing, grooming and 'acting' he received, much better than ordinary training sessions. Gleanna is the most wonderful resource for dog training and behavior modification. She trained our sheepdog, Toby, for a movie she was working on and our dog just loved her! He looked forward to going with her and being trained by her. I would never let Toby be trained by just anyone for I would fear that he would not be as loved as he is with us. That is how we describe Gleanna. She was our trainer with our first dog. That's right, I said our trainer. She showed us how to convey to our dog what we wanted to accomplish together. From the beginning a base of understanding was developed that has helped us with every dog we have met since.
Since those early days of our relationship with Gleanna, we have gone on to spend many happy times sharing all that is good about dogs and cats, and even rats. We have also had to go through some of the hard times. Together with Gleanna, we experienced what the meaning of true friendship is for man’s best friend.
